With seven great primaries within three miles of the town centre, Penrith is well-served for schools; the town’s two secondary schools, Queen Elizabeth Grammar School and Ullswater Community College, are both very highly regarded. Penrith also has four nurseries as well as a college campus of the University of Cumbria.

A thriving market town, once the capital of Cumbria, Penrith is well served by good transport links and is just a stone’s throw outside the National Park. Penrith Station, right in the centre of town, takes you to London in 3 hours and to Manchester, Glasgow or Edinburgh in well under 2 hours. Carlisle is 20mins away in the car and Ullswater even closer.

The town has several lovely cafes serving locally sourced food, as well as bookshops, gift shops, banks, post office, butchers, opticians, biking shops, mountaineering or equestrian…everything you need.
