Until now, machine-to-machine (M2M) technology has suffered from a Cinderella syndrome. iPhone applications have delivered phenomenal growth. Understandably, this may have made operators rather wary of seeing their networks used as mere 'bit-pipes'. So they’re looking for other places where they can add real value.
