Figures from Gartner in April 2011 suggest that 80% of enterprises will support tablet users by 2013. So it’s no surprise that two of the first tablet apps we worked on were for the business market.

Developing for the tablet requires a very specific set of skills. You need to understand how to integrate slickly with web services, even with an intermittent connection. You need to understand that despite its connectivity, the tablet is not just a big smartphone. A good tablet user interface will exploit the larger screen to maximise ease of use and information delivery. There are also greater hardware resources to consider: a good tablet app should take maximum advantage.
